La mosca
Pequeña mosca,
sin querer, mi mano
barrió para siempre
tus juegos de verano.
¿No soy yo
una mosca como vos?
¿O sos vos un hombre
como yo?
Porque bailo
y tomo y canto
hasta que una mano ciega
me arranque las alas.
Si el pensamiento es vida
y fuerza y aliento
y la falta
de pensamiento es la muerte;
entonces soy
una mosca feliz,
así viva
o muera.
The fly, by William Blake. From Songs of Experience.
Little Fly,/ thy summer's play/ my thoughtless hand/ has brushed away.// Am not I/ a fly like thee?/ Or art not thou/ a man like me?// For I dance/ and drink, and sing,/ till some blind hand/ shall brush my wing.// If thought is life/ and strength and breath/ and the want/ of thought is death;// then am I/ a happy fly,/ if I live,/ or if I die.
